March 2024

Young people across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains will soon have access to a dedicated Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit (CAMHS), with construction of a new specialist facility at Nepean Hospital.

Co-designed by young people and carers, CAMHS will provide essential mental health care to young people aged between 12 and 17.

When complete, the unit will feature 10 single bedrooms with ensuites, a secure indoor communal area and private outdoor courtyard, consultation rooms, and workspaces. There will also be a dedicated sensory room, learning centre and media room.

The construction site has been fenced off around the demolition zone and traffic management is in place to proceed with safe demolition and minimise the impact on patients, staff and visitors on campus.

During construction, please pay close attention to traffic and pedestrian signage.

Thank you for your patience and support as we progress Stage 2 of the Nepean Redevelopment.
