Designing Nepean’s hospital to support refugee patients

Tuesday 20 June

Each year on 20 June, the world celebrates World Refugee Day, the international day to honour people who have been forced to flee.

World Refugee Day raises awareness on the unique health needs of refugees and people on the move, and the challenges they may face in accessing healthcare during their journeys and in the host country.

The Nepean Redevelopment supports NSW Health’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of refugees and people with refugee-like experiences who have settled in NSW.

Through our partnership with the Nepean Hospital’s Multicultural Health Unit, a number of features in the new hospital have been designed to improve the visitor and patient experience of refugees and people with refugee-like experiences.

This includes community artworks that feature in Building A and hospital signage in multiple languages.
